Through the miracles of modern technology, I've been able to join in assemblies at the local primary schools. It's been a real delight to be with the children again, albeit virtually.
Over Advent we've been thinking about the meaning of each candle on the Advent wreath. The first represents hope, the second peace, third is joy, fourth is love and then the candle representing Jesus is lit at Christmas and is placed in the centre of the wreath.
Today's thoughts included thinking of what brings us joy and we wait - mostly it was thoughts of being together with family, sharing food and drink. Even when we thought of what brings joy to others it was the same.
If Covid lockdowns and difficulties have taught us anything it's how important family and friends really are - and how difficult it is to be apart from them ... oh, I think that's the Christmas talk sorted!
